KEEMA WITH PAV (NAN CHAMP) By: Gulshan Chunara


1lb minced mutton/beef
three quarters cup oil
6 med tomatoes chopped
half tspn tumeric
6 med potatoes cubed
half tspn chilli flakes
4 preboiled eggs halved
1 tspn ground corriander
200 g fresh peas
1 tspn ground cumin
2 med onions chopped
1 tspn ground garam masala
1tspn minced garlic
4 cinnamon sticks
1 tspn minced ginger
8 peppercorns
1 tspn minced green & red chillies
6 cloves
1 tsp pureed corriander leaves
4 cardamoms
1 tspn pureed mint leaves
2 dried bay leaves
juice of 1 lime
1 tspn black cumin seeds
1 tspn salt
3 tblespns liquidsed yoghurt
chopped corriander for garnish
three quarters/1 cup water


cooking time 35 mins approx
1 heat oil in a saucepan with WHOLE garam masala.
2 add chopped onions and fry until golden brown.
3 add minced meat and sear on med heat for 10 minutes.
4 add little water and stir for 1 min.
5 add choppedd tomatoes, ginger, garlic, chillies, corriander, mint, ground garam masala, tumeric,
chilli flakes, ground corriander, ground cumin, lime juice, youghurt and salt
and cook for further 10 mins. close the pan with a lid.
6 add cubed potatoes, peas and a little water. stir and cook for further 10-15 mins until potatoes and peas are tender.
7 stich off the stove and add halves of preboiled eggs.
8 garnish with chopped corriander before serving.
7 serve with pav or nan
