Thepla

Ingredients:

1 Cup all purpose or whole wheat flour
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Evaporated Milk
1 tbsp Oil
1 tbsp Beaten egg
1 tbsp Sooji
1/2 tsp Crushed fennel seeds
1/4 tsp Baking Powder
dash of nutmeg and cardamom powder
White poppy seeds
1/2 tsp flour
water
Almonds (Blenched)


Method:

Mix well flour, sugar and oil. Add egg, sooji, fennel seeds, baking powder, nutmeg and cardamom and make dough with evaporated milk.
Make daugh into 8 to 10 portions and make like a hamberger patty
Sprinkle with poppy seeds and roll a bit to make poppy seed stick to Thepla
Mix little flour and water to make a little paste and paste shelled almond in the center. Deep fry on medium heat till golden brown then drain on paper towel.
Serve with Masala Chai
